Estate planning and getting your "papers in
order" to protect your family in the event of terminal illness
or death is the greatest gift that you can give to your
survivors. By having some basic documents which we can prepare
for you, everyone can have peace of mind. |

-
Wills & Codicils
It is said that you cannot speak from the grave, but if you
have a Last Will and Testament you will be able to leave your
property to your loved ones. In your Will you can appoint who
will be in charge of your estate, save the cost of an
indemnity bond, and direct that your final debts be paid, make
specific gifts and leave the rest to friends or relatives. If
you already have a Will but want to make a small change all
that you may need is a less costly Codicil.
-
POA (Power Of Attorney)
Many people do not realize that if they become physically
or mentally incapacitated that their business affairs will not
be attended to. By having a simple POA another person would be
able to conduct banking and other matters on your behalf until you are able
to do so.
-
Living Wills
By having a Living Will (or Medical Directive) you are able to
express your desires to a doctor or hospital in the event of a
coma or other life threatening condition. Some people would
rather not suffer the indignity of being on life support or
have their families make that difficult and emotional
decision.
-
Probate matters
We handle all matters dealing with estates including preparing
and filing the Complaint to probate a Will, having a Personal
Representative appointed, obtaining the Surrogate's
Certificate, marshaling the assets, obtaining the tax waivers
and making final distribution.
